DOVER — The halls of Garrison Elementary School on Monday filled with shrieks and squeals coming from the school’s gymnasium. That might be typical with a physical education class in progress, but this was no typical gym class causing the racket.
The noise was coming from nearly two dozen second-graders dashing around the gym in wheelchairs, flinging and dodging colored balls. All of the participants were able-bodied, but they were experiencing what it’s like to play a wheelchair sport.
